MacIntosh Puts Name Atop Hit List

Tim MacIntosh of the Portsmouth Clippers has reached the top of the charts in baseball. He now has the most hits in a season -- a new league record. MacIntosh put number 155 in the scorebook in a game at Navigators Ballpark to pass the previous recor dholder, Harry Cooper. Speaking to the press after his record-breaking game MacIntosh said, "Hitting a baseball is a God-given talent. I'm just thankful He blessed me."

Tim MacIntosh struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 6th and singled in the 9th.

This season MacIntosh is swinging the bat at a .372 rate with 155 hits in 417 at-bats. To date he has hit 5 home runs, scored 69 runs and driven in 42.
