MacIntosh Sets New Single-Season Hit Mark Sunday, July 21st, 1985 An amazing season for Tim MacIntosh reached its climax today, as the Portsmouth Clippers' shortstop set the league record for most hits in a single season with 154, passing the great Harry Cooper. Fans at Navigators Ballpark gave him a 5-minute standing ovation after the historic hit. Tim MacIntosh struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd and walked in the 6th.
