Ramsey Rips Irondale for 5 Hits Monday, July 8th, 1985 Eric Ramsey was unstoppable, but his club, the Navigators, was not unbeatable. Despite his hitting heroics they lost to the Irondale Steelers 6-4. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Ramsey just shook his head after the game, saying to the BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins... not the most hits." Eric Ramsey doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Keith Jones in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Keith Jones in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year Ramsey is batting .277 with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 18 runs scored. |
