Senators, Navigators Make Deal
Sunday, July 7th, 1985
Everybody is overjoyed with a trade consummated today by the Capital City Senators and the Newport Navigators. In the deal Capital City got 28-year-old reliever Milton White and 20-year-old starting pitcher Tony Sutton from Newport and dealt 27-year-old first baseman Guillermo Reyes and $3,000,000 in cash to the Navigators. The general managers that made the swap are happy and the players are happy, too. One of the GMs commented, "This was a good swap for all concerned."
This year Reyes is hitting at a .266 pace with 18 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has played in 90 games and scored 42 times.
This season White has claimed 1 save and registered a 2-2 record with a 4.37 ERA. He has 34 relief appearances spanning 45.1 innings and has struck out 41.
