Patriots Chill MacIntosh's Hot Streak
Friday, August 5th, 1983
The Portsmouth Clippers lost to the Park City Patriots 5-2 today at Arcadia Journal Ballpark, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Tim MacIntosh's 21-game hitting streak.

"We felt if we could slow down MacIntosh, we would win the game," the Patriots manager explained after the game. "They really seemed to feed off of his streak, so we really wanted to make sure they had nothing to feed off of."

In 112 games this season MacIntosh has compiled a .291 batting average with 147 hits and no home runs. He has also scored 48 times and knocked in 35 runs.
