Clippers Patterson Suspended 4 Games Friday, July 8th, 1983
A 4-game suspension has been handed out by the league office to Andy Patterson of the Portsmouth Clippers. Patterson was suspended for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct" during a confrontation with a plate umpire during a recent game at Arcadia Journal Ballpark against the Navigators. He was ejected after arguing a called third strike and had to be restrained by his bench coach.
Patterson is presently hitting at a .235 pace with 5 home runs, 39 RBIs and has scored 29 times.
